SUP Surf: Flat-water Training

Service Description

*Limited series & classes available for 2024* Please note that prior SUP experienced is required; wetsuits & booties are not provided. Interested in SUP Surf? Here’s some of the things you can expect to learn at our flat-water surf classes: -Learn about different types of boards and paddles, how to choose the right equipment for your needs, and how to care for the equipment. -Practice the proper paddling technique, including how to use your core muscles to generate power, how to avoid fatigue, and how to stay balanced on the board. -Practice the proper pop-up (and pop-down) technique, including how to shift your weight, how to extend your arms and how to get to your feet quickly. -Practice the proper stance, including how to position your feet, how to bend your knees, and how to maintain your balance. -Practice the proper turning technique, including how to use your paddle, shifting your weight and how to carve turns. In addition to these basic skills, flat water surf classes may also cover more advanced topics such as wave selection, competition strategy, and fitness training. Flat water surf classes are a great way to learn the basics of surfing, such as paddling, pop-up, stance, and turning. Surfing is also a great way to improve your balance. The constant movement of the board helps to train your core muscles and improve your coordination. SUP Surfing is also a great way to get some exercise. It is a full-body workout that can help you to burn calories, build muscle, and improve your cardiovascular health. Overall a fun and challenging sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. If you are interested in learning how to SUP surf or traditional Surfing, a flat water SUP surf class is a great place to start. *Beginner Class and/or confident SUP experience required. Included in all classes are a board, paddle, Personal-Floatation Device (PFD) and leash. Please note we DO NOT provide wetsuits, booties or gloves. These items are not always required depending on conditions but we encourage you to bring your own as an option. Cancellation Policy

If you need to change your booking please do so 24 hours or more before your class. You can adjust your booking at our website here: https://www.supgirlz.com/account/my-bookings If we need to cancel due to weather we will do so 2 hours before class by email and texts. We cancel for high winds and rain. We want you to have a nice experience but we also need the weather and water conditions to cooperate, so please be understanding.
